A small, tubular item utilizing an eyepiece, cross hair reticle, and an objective lens, to align the optical axis to the mechanical axis of a telescopic instrument. It does not have the viewing power of a telescope. It may have two like items secured in a common holder for simultaneous checking of a dual optical system.
