Netting, insect protection system (ips), designed to be attached on top of the standard military cot (nsn 8340-01-517-1557) or a stand alone shelter unit on the ground, (unfolded and with the usage of 2, .355 inch black anodized 7075-t9 flexible poles running through the netting); this system sets up to a 30 inch high structure above the cot surface allowing a person to sit up inside; each end of the 2 poles insert into the existing pole holes on any standard military cot assisting in maintaining security; 4 straps are provided to strap down each corner of the material to the metal frame, securing its attachment to the cot; nylon high count (1.9 oz.) provides protection from water and encloses the whole system for added protection; privacy corner is provided, which clips to the netting and is also used as a rainfly manufactured of a nylon high count taffeta; entire unit folds up and fits easily into a rucksack weighing less than 3 pounds
