Special Features
Front and temples-eyewire base metal of monel 400 (except pad parts, temple screws) containing not less that 66% nickel. Base metal be plated with min 50 millionth inch (1.270 microns) gold electroplate. Nickel subplating to base metal allowed. Temple butt phosphorus bronze. Cable winding be 3 layers with 18% nickel-silver core, final layer widing of monel 400. Alternate for gold plating, 20 millionth inch (0.508) gold electroplate with clear polymer protective coating allowed.Nose pads be vinyl acetate or vinyl butyrate. Cable tiemple covers not required. Pad insert be pure nickel, rhodium plated. Endpiece monoblock and bridge be 18%nickle-silver. Temple screws be stainless steel, gold color. Pad arm have similar base metal content wi min 1.270 microns of gold electroplate. Alternate: 0.508 micron gold eletroplate wwith polymer coating. Surface gloss be high polished finish.
